This week in pictures

This week marked the opening of Dancing at Lughnasa. (The show was beautiful - it runs through April 17, get your tickets through ncsu.edu/ticketcentral or at 919.515.1100).

Last night, we were lucky enough to have an
Irish session band jam in Thompson Hall before the show.

It was so much fun and definitely made us want to dance!
(We didn't...but if you feel the need to cut a rug, the musicians are scheduled to play before our Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 matinee.)

I'm sure the musicians thought I was crazy, snapping tons of pictures AND video taping...
I'll post some video later.

Our lovely APO members working hard at their concession stand to keep your sugar levels high at each and every performance...
(proceeds go toward APO projects, serving University Theatre and the community).

All performances are free to the public, with a $5 suggested donation. Donations will help fund the next Student Studio. Tickets will be available at the door.

This week in pictures

University Theatre has two productions coming up at the end of March and through April: Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog and Dancing at Lughnasa. Here's a few pictures to document those productions:

Our COM 298 Costume Construction and Application class are building the dresses for Dancing at Lughnasa.

Right now they have the mock ups in muslin, 

but soon they will be a full realization of the designer's renderings on stage! 

"The definition of irony is washing a washing machine with a dirty t-shirt."

'Nuf said. (washing machine to be seen in Dr. Horrible...)

Our library is getting a face-lift thanks to our amazing office and marketing assistant, Jarrett!!

Soon, we will have a full catalogue of our books online!

Lastly, I thought this was clever, and it made me chuckle, so I definitely needed to add it!
